|There is, however, another pretty amazing sight on the way to the Canyon: Hoover Dam. Wow!! It really is a feat of modern engineering. The bridge going over the river was almost as impressive too. But we were on a mission and headed off pretty quickly. Next, Nat and Louis had never seen Route 66 so we did one of the tourist detours. We saw some crazy looking places and even got some classic swag. We also stopped in to change Dom at a Flintstone themed campground. It was a fun ride, but we were all excited to get to the Grand Canyon.
That morning we had started out in sandals but by the time we got to The Canyon it was snowing. Yes, snowing. Our first glimpse was snowed over and foggy, but it was still impressive. Even seeing half of it was breathtaking. It was a good little teaser for the next day...
Here are some pics.
| Couldn't resist this place. The inside was even wackier, but the owners were super friendly. |
| This is still beautiful but you can't see the other side! Oh well, how many people can say they saw the canyon in snow? |
